Transient Killer whales in JDF Strait

Mallard ended up finding these guys right outside the harbour off McCauley Point. They just finished a kill as a smell and sheen was present. T49's X 6 and the bull T103 were present, moving SE at about 8 knots. Lots of playful Dall's porpoise in Haro strait along with several feeding Stellar sea lions.

Transient Orca whales near Sidney

Transient Orca pods T10 and T26 were hunting and killing harbour seals in Satellite Channel and then off Pat Bay in the Saanich Inlet. We watched two kills and left them south bound down the inlet heading towards Goldstream Park.

The Goldwing is a custom built eco-tour boat which is 60 feet long and carries only a maximum of 26 passengers with 2 Transport Canada certified crew. Pushing 1000 horsepower, she cruises quickly, smoothly a& with extreme comfort as we search for whales and other diverse wildlife.

How You Can Help

Every one of us can make a difference. Pollution and lack of suitable food are the major factors that are threatening the Southern Resident Orca Whales.

Cleaning up the environment in which they live will not only promote their survival, but will benefit the entire ecosystem. There are many ways that you can help, and we hope that you do.
