Descriptions

Island Adventures is serious about showing our guests whales. Founders, Shane and Jennifer Aggergaard, are starting their 21st season, offering Gray Whale tours from Everett, WA in the spring and Orca, Minke and Humpback tours in the summer and fall in the San Juan Islands from Anacortes, WA. They were the first company in Washington State to guarantee whales and have the #1 sighting success rate year after year! Departing from the mainland, guests will see more of the islands and other wildlife than on shorter tours without the added expense and hassle of the State ferry. Island Adventures offers a convenient schedule and affordable prices; please see our website for full schedule details.

Guests have the opportunity to see Orcas, Grays, Minkes, and/or Humpback whales depending on the season. The 100’ Island Explorer 3 is whale friendly, equipped with large, low noise propellers and above water exhaust to minimize noise to the whales. She has a huge upper viewing deck, extended bow pulpit, and over 400’ of rail space! Our highly trained naturalists and crew will inform and entertain you throughout the tour both one-on-one and using our quality sound system. Inside the heated main cabin is a 42” flatscreen TV with navigation system, seafloor mapping, and laptop programming for educational presentations and whale identification. Our snack bar offers hot & cold food and drinks and the interior cabin is outfitted with yacht-like seating. Check out the 360° photos, virtual tour, and whale report on our website. Book online or talk to a friendly, knowledgeable staff member on the phone or at our gift shop/office/check-in facility in Anacortes. Whale Watchers will receive 10% off items in our gift shop.

How You Can Help

Every one of us can make a difference. Pollution and lack of suitable food are the major factors that are threatening the Southern Resident Orca Whales.

Cleaning up the environment in which they live will not only promote their survival, but will benefit the entire ecosystem. There are many ways that you can help, and we hope that you do.
