Descriptions

Welcome to San Juan Outfitters, San Juan Island’s whale watch, sea kayak, and adventure professionals. The San Juan Islands are considered one the best places in the world to observe Orca (Killer) Whales and other wildlife. We specialize in providing high quality whale watch, kayak, and adventure tours for groups small and large, families, and independent travelers. Owner operated, we are known for our high level of customer service, and highly trained and friendly naturalist guides.

San Juan Outfitters is located at both Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Our exclusive facilities at these harbors allow guests safe and easy access to the water, whether you are sea kayaking or whale watching. Whale Watch guests will appreciate the small group feel of our vessel, with both the captain and naturalist answering your questions one-on-one. The 24 passenger Sea Hawk is a very comfortable boat with a heated cabin and outdoor seating on the bow and aft, ensuring everyone has a great view of the whales.

Experienced paddlers, novices, and families alike will enjoy our sea kayaking tours, as we look for marine birds, eagles, seals, sea lions, whales and porpoises all while enjoying the stunning scenery of the West Side. We have a wide variety of tours and services available ranging from 3-hour kayak tours to multi-day or multi-sport excursions. Join us for an adventure today!

How You Can Help

Every one of us can make a difference. Pollution and lack of suitable food are the major factors that are threatening the Southern Resident Orca Whales.

Cleaning up the environment in which they live will not only promote their survival, but will benefit the entire ecosystem. There are many ways that you can help, and we hope that you do.
